Molzer Development Newsletter #5
Welcome to the latest edition of the Molzer Development Newsletter!
We’ve been making great strides with The Aladdin, and I can’t wait to share more about it in our next update. For now, let me bring you up to speed on some recent highlights.
From September 10-14, I had the fantastic opportunity to travel to Atlanta, Georgia, for the CREi Summit. This event was an incredible networking opportunity and a deep dive into building your brand and connecting with commercial real estate professionals from across the country.
Here are my key takeaways and what I’m excited to implement in my life and business:
Social media can be a game-changer for business if used strategically. While many people use it for mindless scrolling or arguments, it’s also a powerful tool for storytelling, connection, and growth. Your social media presence should reflect your story, connect with your audience, and support your goals.
Questions to Consider:
What is your story?
Who is your target audience?
What do you hope to achieve with your content?
Why would people be interested in your journey?
For Molzer Development, I’ve defined our brand’s “tone words” as Passionate, Fun, and Trustworthy. I want our audience to see that we are deeply committed, enjoy what we do, and are transparent in our operations. Knowing your audience and what they value can lead to valuable opportunities, from potential investors and partners to long-term relationships.
One of the highlights was hearing Don Tepman discuss how he sources many of his deals through social media. It’s a testament to the power of a well-crafted personal brand. By building a strong presence, you can attract opportunities and connections that align with your business goals.
3. Podcast and Speaking Engagement
While in Atlanta, I had the pleasure of joining Kenny Shultz from PermitZIP on his podcast. I’m looking forward to sharing that conversation with you soon! I also spoke at the event about how openness and transparency can lead to unparalleled opportunities. I’ll share that talk as well once it’s available. Here’s a quick preview!
The podcast with PermitZIP is dropping soon!
4. The Value of Networking
Being surrounded by like-minded professionals with similar passions and goals was both inspiring and motivating. The support system I already have, coupled with new relationships from the summit, will be invaluable as I continue to pursue my ambitious goals.
As Bob Knakal wisely said, “It’s not who you know, it’s who knows YOU.” Building your reputation and visibility is key to unlocking new opportunities.
Closing Thoughts
A huge shoutout to everyone who helped make my time in Atlanta memorable and knowledgeable, most notably Ken Ashley who put this great event on. Ken is a mentor, friend, and one of the most selfless human beings I have ever met and I am so blessed to have him in my corner. Pursuing something you love can be a rollercoaster of emotions—lonely, scary, exciting, and exhilarating all at once. I’m incredibly grateful for the support I have, including all of you subscribers.
As a jazz enthusiast, I’d say it best this way: “Those who want to lead the orchestra (or band) must be willing to turn their back to the crowd.”
If you have any questions about Kansas City, development, or if you’re interested in collaborating on future projects as an investor or partner, feel free to reach out. I’m working on some exciting new projects, and I’d love to chat with you about them.
Godspeed!
Best,
Zach Molzer
